小巷晨光乍现

赶集的小贩摆摊忙

拉开嗓门，招呼

柴米油盐

 

柠檬热茶叫声早安

卤猪肠串串飘香

烈开嘴的炸虾饼

飞不起来的鸡翅膀

 

西红柿酡红着脸

芒果与龙眼比谁甜

鲳鱼眼睛亮闪闪

龙虾举起双螯朝天              

 

凉拌菜加鱼面汤

小市民美味的午餐

拍拍手抹抹嘴

再嚼一口香槟榔(注 )

 

 

（注）将刨好的槟榔果实薄片，拌入一些烟草丝，塗上少

许白灰，再用鲜绿的栳叶，包成一小包，即成。在缅甸咀

嚼槟榔很普遍。五十年代新加坡大坡的Market Street有

许多经营香料的印度商行店门口的走廊，可以看见咀嚼槟

榔者将深红色的渣汁，吐在垃圾桶里。
